There was something strangely intriguing about the St. George Roadrunners in its second season as a Golden Baseball League franchise for 2008. We got the usual assortment of games, highlighted by four-hour offensive shows and very little pitching.

More on the pitching in a bit, but in the end, we actually had something to cheer for in the second half of the season.

The Roadrunners put together some serious winning streaks that got everyone's attention, and they were in the running for the second-half Southern Division title up until the next-to-last game.
